FUMC Leadership...

The Pastor of Franklin United Methodist Church is Rev. Dr Abraham Waya.  The Ministers of the church are the Congregation.  Numerous volunteers oversee and help manage different programs in the church, including Sunday School, Committees, and others positions that benefit the congregation and the community.

FUMC Mission Statement

The mission of the Franklin United Methodist Church (FUMC) is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by helping people know and live God's way; to be a place where all come to experience meaningful worship, to love and be loved, to grow in Christ, and reach out in concern for others.

Who We Have Been...

In April of 1872 the Franklin United Methodist Church had its beginnings with a pastor, nine women, and four men.  The present building was dedicated in June of 1873 and by the end of the year were sixty-six members. The congregation continued to grow in spite of economic hard times. In 1903 the memorial stained glass windows were installed and dedicated to the glory of God. In 1905 the pipe organ was purchased and installed and at a cost of $1500 and was completely restored in 1987. During the early 1950's major renovations of the downstairs Sunday School area were completed. In 1995 we began major repairs and renovations as we prepare to move into a new century of ministry to and with the people of the Franklin area. The Franklin United Methodist Church has been a significant influence in the life of the community for almost 125 years and anticipates many more years of faithful ministry.

Who We Are...

The Franklin United Methodist Church is a welcoming congregation that has a wide diversity of age, vocation, interests, and journeys. We are a people called to be in ministry with one another in the name of Christ. We affirm our diversity as a strength and have chosen to make our journey together. We believe the Church should be a place of nurture and growth that enables persons to live out their faith most effectively as disciples of Jesus Christ; that calls others to become disciples; and reaches out to the community and the world with our gifts and service.
